About
I'm a staff writer at Roll Call covering ethics, accountability, institutional security and Legislative Branch spending. I look at Congress as an institution in addition to policy and politics on Capitol Hill. I'm in the National Press Foundation's 2018-2019 class of Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellows.
Most recently, I was a reporter and assistant editor on the CQNow team at CQ. I wrote the daily CQ Morning Briefing newsletter and was part of a relaunch and rebranding of CQ newsletters in 2017. In addition to working alongside an incredible team editing breaking news and policy analysis, I oversaw social media strategy for CQ.
Previously, I covered committee action in the House and Senate and worked at the CQ House floor reporter. I first started my journalism career as a CQ legislative action reporting intern in the summer and fall of 2011.
I received my BA in political science from Tufts University before joining the CQ newsroom again in 2013 as a legislative action reporter. While at Tufts, I received three Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service summer fellowships. I remain connected to Tufts, mentoring Tisch Summer Fellows in Washington D.C. each summer and hosting panel discussions on Tufts alumni in Washington's media scene.
